Synopsis

In present-day Philadelphia, archivist Lena Voss hacks a forgotten DARPA archive and recovers grainy battlefield reels showing British uniforms dissolving into writhing shadow entities that feed on revolutionary fervor. As modern authorities label her a terrorist, Lena allies with a descendant of Washington’s spy ring to weaponize the truth before the entities—still active—erase all evidence of their eternal occupation. The film hurtles from candlelit tents to drone-chased highways, revealing the Declaration was never independence but a containment treaty now fracturing.

The story

Act I

Lena Voss, fired from the Smithsonian, finds the Utopai-recovered reels proving Redcoats are parasitic entities that arrived with the Mayflower; a midnight raid forces her underground with cryptic ally Ben Hale.

Act II

Pursued by shape-shifting agents, Lena and Hale decrypt the entities’ plan to trigger a second revolution that will re-harvest American souls; betrayals mount as historical landmarks weaponize against them.

Act III

At Independence Hall during a modern July 4th spectacle, Lena broadcasts the footage live, forcing the entities into the open for a final confrontation that rewrites the national myth and seals the breach.

INT. UNDERGROUND ARCHIVE - NIGHT
Dust floats in projector light. LENA VOSS, 28, wired on adrenaline, loads a cracked reel labeled "JULY 4 1776 - CLASSIFIED." Grainy images flicker: Continental soldiers charging Redcoats whose coats ripple like oil. One soldier’s bayonet pierces a Redcoat—uniform explodes into writhing black tendrils that devour the man whole. Lena gasps. On screen, a Redcoat turns to camera, eyes glowing ember-red. It speaks in perfect modern English: "The treaty ends tonight." Alarms blare. Footsteps thunder above. Lena yanks the drive and runs.

Why now

In an era of weaponized history and collapsing trust in institutions, this film taps the cultural hunger to question every origin story while delivering blockbuster spectacle that reframes America’s birthday as a cosmic horror we still fight to survive.
