Synopsis
After the sudden death of their teenage son, the fractured Mercer family turns to increasingly experimental AI systems in a desperate attempt to bring him back. What begins with voice clones and photorealistic simulations soon evolves into something far more ambitious: an ever-growing digital reconstruction trained on years of videos, messages, medical records, and memories. But not everyone in the family agrees. While his parents become obsessed with completing the resurrection project, his aunt, grandfather, and younger sister argue that they are preserving a ghost, not a person. As the AI version of the boy grows more convincing—and begins revealing memories, emotions, and intentions that no dataset should contain—the family is drawn into a bitter conflict over grief, identity, and whether death itself should have the final word. Told entirely through AI-generated imagery that constantly shifts between memory, simulation, and reality, the film blurs the line between authentic remembrance and synthetic life. As the digital teenager demands a body of his own, the family must decide whether they are bringing their son back—or creating something that only wears his face.
